That's always been the case since the 50s when covers became more popular, youth has generally had a disregard for history.

My brother wondered why David Gilmour didn't play Wish You Were Here instead of Ed Sheeran.
I thought the Freddie Mercury video was a nice touch. Should've just done the song with a video of him.
They were only on for a few minutes. Jessie J standing in for Freddie Mercury was more contentious to me when they had Matt Bellamy there who could have done better, but my kids love her.
