That's it ... 'haymaking' completed and fence panels repaired :¬)
Haymaking, eh? {raises eyebrows in a Roger Moore style} Well, you know what they say; "make hay while the sun shines."
(can you tell I've just got the James Bond 50th Anniversary box set?)
That's our part in the children's tent done for another year. Now we are just rushing around getting stuff done before my youngest has to go off to a party. I don't think we'll make it in time for the start, though.
Turned out to be a good day, weather-wise, but I think the wind and rain yesterday put some people off coming down today so we had less than last year.
School run time in a minute.
One of the best radio dramas that I remember has got to be 'Lord of the Rings' 1981 ... broadcast every Sunday 12 noon till 12.30 for a good few weeks. I recorded every broadcast on cassette tape as I used each for teaching purposes later and I have no doubt that I influenced a lot of young people to appreciate JRR Tolkien in their later lives ...
I've got the 1968 BBC Radio play of The Hobbit, where they've had to take it from FM recordings as the master tapes were wiped, but I've never heard the LOTR dramatisation. Sounds good, though. I see its £8.99 on AudioGo too.
That's about £10 for all 5 original full cast radio dramas and then there are a few other bits and pieces at a decent price, including Dirk Gently.
HHGTTG is one of the best radio dramas that the BBC has ever produced (in my opinion, of course) and is superior to every other version of Douglas Adam's series (though I have a soft spot for the TV series).
Massive hailstorm at the minute here, but blue skies and sunny as well!
