Don't you have an old copy of XP you could stick on it to sell? (that's what I did with my old PC last year), failing that you could always put Ubuntu on it. That way you could keep your Windows 7 licence for your new PC.

Morning.

On the lookout for a new PC for gaming, but on a tight budget (see the console wars thread for more), so if anyone has any suggestions in the £250-£300 range. Looks like an A4 to A6 chip is t the best way to go as I can then just upgrade the chip to an A8 or A10 later and the graphics with it without buying 2 separate items.

So far, I've seen an HP P6-2310 for £250 which is an A4 with 4GB RAM. But then there's the whole debate about Windows 8, too, which comes with this one.

I do have Windows 7 (standalone, so would install on a new PC) but I really should sell my old PC and that would involve selling Windows with it.

I know very little about Dr.Who, don't watch it, here are the latest odds on the favourites (don't know who most of them are).

I felt really old when they cast a new Doctor younger than me. Now he's retiring after doing it for 4 years. The years go by so quickly now.

So what did you think of Matt's Doctor pb, Alfonse, or anyone? Was he your favourite of the three new Doctors? And who do you think will replace him? Someone young or old or black or female or bisexual or American? (I know you just asked something similar pb - sorry)

A female Doctor just wouldn't work, I don't think. No reason why he can't be black, though. American, though? {shudders} That would be the equivalent of turning up to a fourth of July celebration in New York asking if they'd like to reintroduce a British tax on their tea.

Yes, but Machie tends to just magically appear at the sound of new who news (try saying that when you're drunk) and he hasn't been around for a while.

So...who should it be? Older actor? Anyone already famous or an unknown?

A new Doctor for next year? Looks like Matt Smith has done his 4 years and is calling it a day. Where's Machie when you need a bit of Doctor Who chat.

Heard nothing but bad things about Grid 2, particularly the PC version. Going to try it out tomorrow and will get back to you, but I'm apprehensive to say the least.

I read somewhere Chris that Grid 2 has moved away from the sim (ish) handling of previous games, leaning more towards arcade like physics of PGR, NFS etc. Might give it a whirl when it hits the £15 mark (which I reckon won't take long) but I'm in no massive rush to buy it.
