I am involved with projects at work which are so top secret they cannot possibly be worked on from our home PC. I need to be able to do this work whilst on the move and the company cannot supply me with a laptop in case this work gets traced back to them. I'm in too deep to back out now, mankind's very existence could depend on it...[/i]

BF4 is probably not to be wished for considering the way that BF3 has/is going! Of course I'm talking online here ;¬) So not a good excuse ...

As for SC's spending hours on a train or waiting for one and whipping out his controller and playing with it .... no laptop battery will take that, even dedicated gaming laptops! So not a good excuse ...

Mrs DL has a laptop! It keeps Mrs DL happy ... she can bank online, shop online and play Bingo online ... more importantly, it keeps her away from my PC! An excellent excuse to buy a laptop :¬D

Just hope the Liverpool Railway Police aren't checking this post

I've got an A8 laptop with dual graphics and it runs modern games like a charm. When you're on a train for several hours, or waiting around somewhere with your laptop, it's amazing to pull out a wired 360 controller and just start playing a game while sitting down.

Afternoon.

I've got a chance to get a laptop fairly cheap.

It's an AMD A10 with dual graphics (good enough to run pretty much anything on medium and some stuff on high).

But my wife has asked me why I need a laptop and I couldn't really find a good enough answer.

Anyway...

Bank Holiday, and a sunny one at that. Not that I should be going out with my foot as it is.

Morning.

I actually prefer Gmail to Microsoft's Outlook/Hotmail/whatever they're calling it this month. I have to have both because Android requires one and Microsoft's services require the other (both are the same when it comes to tying in to their products).

But Gmail seems to provide a better spam filter (one that actually works) and I prefer the layout. Plus I don't like that MS got rid of account linking as I used that a lot on our shared home PC.

Rejected every time. I wouldn't even have a Google account if my phone didn't require it, GMail is worthless.

I hate Google for forcing it's association on YouTube users. I use Google as a search engine, and nothing more. I use YouTube to upload and watch videos. I don't know why Google should involve itself in that regardless of ownership matters, they've got absolutely nothing to do with each other. Nobody I know genuinely uses Gmail instead of Hotmail or uses Circles instead of Facebook. It's bad enough YouTube sold itself out with a ridiculous increase in adverts over the past few years, and terrible VEVO channels and copyright claims springing up 24/7 (although the experience is definitely helped by using Firefox and Adblock).

It's all linked now, anyway.

My wife was pleased that the episode of Casualty she missed on iPlayer (it didn't record while we were away) was on Youtube, so I expect that is on my list.

The annoying thing is that I'd like to move everything on my website's google account to my personal one, but its just not possible,

If I ever sold the site this could be difficult.

I remember a time when Google didnt want you to use your real name on YouTube. Protect your privacy they said. Now I get requests every other day from them "Hey, instead of mark[lastname] why dont you use Mark [last name] instead?"

Are you guys using your Google plus names on YT? I wonder what videos Nick [lastname] and Paul [lastname] are watching.
