Both Next Gen consoles seem to have made their way to my study now rather than the lounge. So much for a future of integrated media based consoles, neither of them have really enhanced that experience from last gen and actually have less apps and functions outside of gaming. Surprisingly, the Xbox One has the least, after they made all that fuss about non-gaming stuff at E3.
The PS3 seems to be the lounge based console of choice at the moment.
You sure you haven't got some dodgy market knock- off console ("Eggbox Fun", perhaps?)? My boy's doing everything he used to do with his 360, and then some...
...And just what sort of "media" compatibility is missing? Music, games, DVD and Blu-Ray, video and chat etc...
What else is there?[/i]
Blink box, some of the catchup channels, streaming movies/music from PC...
It's no big thing, but odd given the initial promises. Mind you, it was all US centric anyway with no deal still being done for the TV integration.
Mostly got it to play games, anyway.[/i]
Err...
How to stream movies from pc to Xbox One
List of UK Apps on Xbox One, including Blinkbox which is due in May according to Blinkbox' own site.
BBC have also agreed that the reason for delay with iPlayer is their fault, and incompatibility with Kinect. Currently being worked on.
Perhaps it would be worth someone starting a thread for next gen consoles, tips and tricks rather than all of this being lost in other random nonsense?[/i]
BBC have said that the problem is that the Kinect doesn't work well with their software and it works perfectly well without Kinect. Microsoft won't let them launch without Kinect support though.
At launch there were far less apps too. Even the PS4 had less than the PS3. They really should have launched with everything ready.
Between my Apple TV and PS3 I've got all the apps I need in HD anyway, so still better to keep that downstairs and have everything else in the gaming room for gaming.
Perhaps it would be worth someone starting a thread for next gen consoles, tips and tricks rather than all of this being lost in other random nonsense?
Well chas ... you're the designated one ... so we await, with baited breath, for Chas's Definitive Next Gen Thread ;¬)

Then I'm not sure how moving host helps you or how you even can.
I must admit that I don't know how it works, but I thought if I asked my web host to let me have the code for the site I can then transfer it or something? Yes, I really need to read up on this.
Alternatively, I just start from scratch and build my own site, learning as I go, or get someone to build a new one for me, then import content. It would probably end up being a vast improvement.
Either way, huge volume of crap for such a small dog. She's on rice now to settle her stomach.
