Afternoon.

So my old HP laptop is now winging its way to Czech Republic (no idea why there, but still) and HP are sending me a shiny new one to replace it.

Had time to do a video review of it on Youtube first, which was good and I'll do a review of the new one as well. The new laptop is a Intel Core i7-4700MQ with a 740M graphics card, so should be able to handle a bit of gaming. It doesn't have a disc drive, though, but in this day and age most things are digital or easily transferred.

Sorry to hear you're still having those issues, DL. Can't be easy for either of you.

The dog has gone from one extreme to the other over the last 24 hours. Now we're trying to stop her jumping and running around so she doesn't split her stitches or hurt her insides. At least now she's sat next to me on the sofa.

Did a quick video review of the HP laptop that's going back on Friday. I really need to improve my video narration skills, though.

Been around all the time pb ... glad the dog is better and, surprisingly, your eldest :¬)

Have been in Sheffield all day, trying to 'maintain and repair' mother-in-law's house, whilest she finally 'escapes the prison' to get her 'hair done'!!! Not been done for 6 wks, apparently!

So that leaves me and father-in-law's daughter ie my wife. He kicks her out along with the hoover ,,, as it makes too much noise and his daughter is only 14 yrs old and Mrs DL is 'some woman'. Then he locks us both out, which has happened before but this time we had no extra key! Entry was acheived with15 minutes of 'conversation' but from then on the situation just became ...

Needless to say, we left and endured the M1 farce ... the joke is ... this has to be repeated again next week!!!!

The irony is, my father is older by 6 mths and is 90. He owns his own house but lives with his partner. He still drives, he is mobile yet he 'dwells in the past'. I can oversee his 'finance' if necessary so I can 'check' what he has been doing. I have his full approval for access to 'his house' for maintenance and repair ...

Oh, you don't know how much I long for regular work!

Three in a row!

Morning. Dog is recovering well, she's almost back to her usual self so have to make sure she doesn't stretch or jump.

Eldest daughter is back to being I'll again, so she can keep an eye on the dog at least.

Morning.

Dog is now at the vets until this afternoon. Wife is out and kids are at school, even the one who was ill yesterday. Suddenly the house is nice and quiet.

We made it out, I thought the fresh air would do her good. Went out to Holden Woods in Exeter, very nice. The dog really enjoyed the walk, but she's got her op tomorrow so that's probably the last exercise she'll be getting for a while.

Eldest still I'll, though. Sore throat and headache and was sick earlier. No school tomorrow for her, I expect.

Bank Holiday Monday. The plan was to go somewhere nice before the weather changes, but my eldest is complaining she has a sore throat and a bad head. Typical.

Evening pb ... how did the day eventually 'pan out'? Unexpectedly, we had granddaughter for most of today, but she wasn't 'right' and spent most of her stay clinging to me ... a cold and 'new' back teeth we think ... but never mind, it was a pleasant change. Weather around here is set for fine for all the week ... guess it's just the west coast that's in for rain, but then again we do live on an island.
