Evening all.

Certainly was a long day yesterday.

Was told my Nan was in hospital so wouldn't be coming for Boxing day (she's 90 and in and out of hospital every 3 or 4 months), had to get kids up as they were up late for Christmas day so we were already running late getting down to my Parents (about an hour's drive).

Had a good time there, though no drinking for me as I was driving back again, got some good Blu-rays to keep me entertained and the kids got enough toys from their grandparent to fill the boot of my Altea up, so they were happy. Saw my brother and found out he has a PSP now so gave him Locoroco on UMD as I have the second and the midnight carnival on my memory stick.

Also met my cousin's new girlfriend. He's got good taste and she's really friendly as well, quite relaxed despite being in the madhouse that is my parents and relatives!

Left about 3.30pm and went to the hospital in Taunton to visit my nan as I could go back home from there, left kids and wife in car and went to see her, really frail looking but still had moments of spirit. On seeing my cousin's girlfriend (once she was out of earshot) her comment was 'she's really black. I didn't realise she'd be that black.' in a tone that said she didn't approve. Facepalm moment, but that's the older generation for you, not really excusable though, especially as she was so nice.

Anyway, today was getting up to see the mess the house is in with all the present boxes and paper everywhere and going to Toys R Us with vouchers the kids got to add to the mess!

Morning all.

Just discovered the wonders of facebook and it's pages section (loving google analytics!).

Just drafted my personal statement for optometry. May sound a tad big-headed. It's going to be a tough choice to make if I get offered a place though. I love my job (even if the office annoys me sometimes) so it will be a sacrifice.

I guess I can leave it down to the fates to decide - if I get a place offered, then bonus, but if not, at least I get to stay in the job...

Anybody online for MW2 today?

Thanks Hmm, will take a look at that and make sure I get myself fully optimised ready for when (or indeed if) I become indexed for google.

It's very addictive I have to say... Seem to be stuck between doing the research to update the site r enjoying updating the site :p

Didn't feel very well last night. I don't think watching Meet the Spartans helped much.

Feeling a little better today. Stayed in bed and watched Birmingham V Chelsea. I probably should have just slept to be honest. :)

Evening and Merry Christmas everyone!

Had a lovely dinner in the end, all frozen food but worked out much better than buying a big turkey with bones etc.

Kids loved their presents and I spent half the morning getting them built (play shopping trolleys, barbie planes etc all taken their tool on my fingers!).

Over to parents tomorrow to get some presents for me (and yet more for the kids!)

Merry Christmas everyone, just had dinner at my girlfriend's, her mum very knidly cooked for me as my parents are away on holiday and my borhter has gone to Milton Keynes to his girlfriend's.

Now at home on my own, after taking the dog for a walk, going to enjoy a few beers, some games and Christmas TV (watching something called the Gruffalo at the moment, sounds like the voice of James Corden and Rob Bryden in it.)

Anyway, Hope everyone is having a very good Christmas!

Don't worry GP, we are all still here but I suspect too much 'festive cheer' may be making us all 'watchers' and not 'posters' - Merry Christmas to you GP.

We are awaiting the arrival of one of my sons and his girlfriend - he's at work until 6pm and shortly after this they will arrive and he is going to propose to her - Mrs DL is 'like a cat on a hot tin roof' at the moment .... ha ha :-)

I kind of miss the days when I'd be the only one here posting on this day every year.
