Morning people,

Been up from half 6 this morning and stuck in work until half 3 and we've got a guys leaving do at 8 tonight followed by an 8.30 start at work tomorrow. Im going to be the only one in so its not so fun with a hangover :(

Pete - You could X Clamp it on your own, you can pick the kits up on ebay for 4 quid. It also comes with a good guide and is pretty straightforward. I did it with my old 360 when I bought an elite. Its been working fine for over a year.

That's a fair point mate.

He is an electronics engineer and has a workshop at his house apparently.Said a standard RROD fix using an X-Clamp kit (or something) is £15.Probably worth a gamble for that,I will of course see everything myself as I'm going there (I'm actually in the area on Saturday anyway as it happens). He doesn't just fix 360's,he said they just seem to have become his main source of income !.He reckons he has fixed hundreds of them using this method and it usually does the trick ?.If I'm not happy,or if he's doing them on his sofa I just won't leave it there.

Also my boiler died yesterday, ended up with a plumber at my house for nearly 6 hours as he had to dismantle most of my 2 year old kitchen as the units had been fitted around it,making it totally inaccessible. He also had to cut a large piece out of one of them to get to part of the system. On top of that the repair was a control board which cost about £150.He's calling round later with the bill, great !.

But just when I thought my luck had all ran out I received an email this morning saying that I've just won the Liechtenstein Lottery, can't believe it as I didn't even enter ?.Also some Nigerian guy had an uncle with the same name as me who died in a plane crash. All he needs are my bank details to send me the 2 million $ he was worth. The name Pete must be all the rage in Nigeria ! :D

Morning all, didnt have the best start to the day, quick argument with the gf and a near break up lol, always good on a Friday morning!

Hope you all had a better start than that, should be off on a bus to Norwich tomorrow night for a few drinks! Bus of like 10 people heading up, so should be a good night.

@Pete, hope it gets sorted mate. Is the guy sorting out the Xbox expensive??

Morning all.

@Pete - I'm sure it will only be temporary unless he's actually replacing the mainboard. Besides, he must have a big house and a lot of money to have the vacuum sealed equipment and dust free environment to do it properly...

Morning guys,

My 360 RROD'd (for only the 3rd time in its life) last night and about an hour later my mate rang me saying that his is showing an E74 fault ?.Found a guy on eBay who is reasonably local and has a business repairing them. He's cheap and also offers a postal return service. He can also upgrade the internal cooling system which he reckons should prevent any further overheating related problems ?.Going up to see him with the 2 dead consoles on Saturday, hopefully he can sort them ?.

Haha.

Just polished off a footlong Subway Club. Free upgrade from a 6"with the vouchers in the Metro :)

The great thing is, I have another book of vouchers just given to me, so it means I can do the same again tomorrow if I wanted to :p

Afternoon people.

Walliams on a bike? I thought that was quite a common thing (according to some newspapers, or was that Walliams is a bike, I cannot remember).

Hah, no. Walliams was on the phone to Chris Moyles at the time.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Impressive control panel
I have to say that I'm impressed with the features available having logged on... Loads of info - excellent.
