Sounds like you just needed a giant inflatable puck to make a game of it all, DL! :-D
Tell me about it Chris ... found out very early this morning that they'd run out of grit!!! Man this is a 10 acre site with heavy vans and no gritting facilities!!! Oh it's ok if you cut your finger ... plenty of plasters and H&S forms ... but no grit??? FFS!
Today was another nightmare ... the Yard had frozen and was totally unworkable, except work had to carry on because of contracts with vendors ... it's about time that the vendors actually see the problems and that our management actually venture out and see the problem ... but that is wishful thinking :¬D
We haven't had much in Bournemouth, the snow never stays. Plenty of ice hanging about though which made the buses a nightmare this morning. No contingency plan in place unless you call a lot of men in overalls running around telling people to move further down the road for their buses a mastermind solution. Seeing as I was an hour late, I don't!
Heavy snowfall here over the weekend and quite a bit of disruption to travel! Nightmare today at work as they insisted in continuing with a 400 van sale! The Yard hadn't been touched since last Friday and was 4 inches deep within virgin snow and a layer of ice underneath at 8am this morning! Try moving a Boxer or a Master or a Sprinter in those conditions when they're also covered in snow! As the day progressed, moving vehicles compressed the snow and created compacted ice! What fun!!!!
0830 until 1430 outside in those conditions really does make me wonder about the sanity of managers who remain indoors and have no knowledge of what the 'outside world' is like!
Needless to say, my thoughts aren't allowed on Freeola ;¬)

Also noticing that Christmas is arriving about a week earlier each year.
Too right Chris, I'd even say earlier than that!
