Sorry to hear that, hope you managed to stem the tide. Luckily we've never had that problem here, ...
Tide was 'halted'...after nearly an hour of 'brushing and digging', soaking wet and feeling thoroughly 'unfriendly' about the whole storm.
We actually live on a hill! which makes us feel worse. The camber on the road was the initial cause, but that was sorted after a few years of flooding and Insurance Company intervention, by the local Highways Dept.
At present, it is the sudden 'volume' of water that causes the problem....too much and nowhere to go! Just trying to find a solution to the problem at the moment .... cheap automatic flood barrier would help :¬)
We went to Crealy instead of Bicton anyway and they were throwing out tons of small eggs on the floor, so we managed to get a few handfuls of those too. Not a bad afternoon out either.
Bicton tomorrow instead, though.
We had to man the flood gates last night to stop the house flooding again because of the hailstorm/flash flood.....:¬(
Sorry to hear that, hope you managed to stem the tide. Luckily we've never had that problem here, but back in the day I used to be in a basement flat and that was terrible for flooding.
It also stood directly under a Disney store, so every day at 9am we had the sound of Disney music on repeat until 5pm. At least it was by the sea though, we're about an hour's walk from the sea now.
Who care's if I've had to work all day and the Easter bunny obviously got lost on the way to my house, life's good :)
Evening DL, glad you came back.
Hope you saw my last post about that conversation, I'm not in the business of upsetting people, honest!
No offence taken pb....at the time I was really concerned about you and your 'hectic' lifestyle and I was afraid for your health (having been down that route a few years ago) .. :¬)
Hope you and your family had a good afternoon though in 'Bixton?'
