Back to your original question. There are various programs that store what your downloading, and when the cut-off occurs, you can continue the download from where you left off.
Cant think of any at the moment. Theres one on download.com, it came automatically when I began downloading something.
Im sure other people know of some software, theres one with a crocodile (dont ask) that I saw in college...?
Good luck.

You're trying to send an instant message...who are you sending it to? God? Santa Claus? You can't just fire a message off into the ether, there has to be a recipient. It's like sending an email to no-one - it's just an invalid action.

If you have Windows XP, you already have Windows Messenger, which is the same/similar to MSN Messenger. If you don't have Windows XP, you'll have to download either Windows Messenger or MSN Messenger, preferrably the former as I would surmise the latter comes with a whole lot more clutter. Once you have Messenger, add a contact and you're away.

So use a download manager like Getright or DAP, so that you can resume after the cut off (and even redial automatically)

Hmmmm
You have it?
Well you have to sign in with the same email address you registered as a passport and use the password you created for it.
Then sign in and add some contacts.

i cant believe im this useless. ive just signed up for msn. WHAT THE HELL. i have no idea what ive got. all i know is they've given me an email account. ive signed up for the "passport". i want to get the messenger thing but it has absolutely confused me.

currently in my mail account it says

>send an instant message<

so i tried that but it said i have no contacts. help please.

i then look down the page and it says that i can

>join the forums<

does this mean the same kind of thing as this one we are in now. help please.

in my mail account it has an advert to download msn messenger, i thought i had! is this just a common advert or have i not signed up for the thing i did this all for. sorry to be so unbelieveably pathetic, but once this is all cleared up ill be fine
