But is it time to chuck the little critters away and go for something that can backup larger amounts of data?
But now, all is on CDs, and, following this, I think that pretty soon, you won't be able to buy a PC with a floppy drive. Instead, it'll have a CD-RW or DV-RW in its place.
But what about zip drives . . . hmm . . .
So the biggest PC retailer in the world is about to drop the floppy.
But that aint great news for some of us. Having to rebuild 10's of PC's a day with images is not easy when you aint got a floppy disk to boot to the image server. Running ntfschk is a pain in the backside from a cd. NT4 doesn't support USB so you can kiss goodbye to pen drives. Oh I could go on.
So you'd be surprised how many people want the floppy drive to stay. And I'm one of them.
