I'm a tad annoyed today. I work as a classroom assistant in a school so i'm usually in the classroom supervising lessons and helping out the actual teacher. Well all this week i've seen the teachers have to make the kids, on the orders of the headmaster, write anti-war letters to the prime minister (and may i reinforce the word MAKE. Any kid who didn't do it wasn't allowed to go out at break or lunch)
So after this blatant misuse of her position as an educator i was quite shocked to see when another teacher brought in a British flag on Thursday to hang in the staffroom, for no other reason then to show support for our troops risking their lives in Iraq, the headmistress storms into the room and rips it down and calls the teacher in question a *war mongerer*
Now if i wasn't annoyed enough that this idiot was forcing her views on the children by making the teachers use valuable lesson time to write quite pointless letters, in all honestly, i now was faced by this hypocrite. How dare she force her views upon children who have very little knowledge of this war in the first place and how dare she stop people showing some patriotism and support for our boys and girls while she shouts her mouth about how the war is wrong and all that which we've heard god knows how many times.
Now i respect her right to have an opinion about the war but i also expect her to respect others rights to show support for it or at least our troops. So around about 5 of us have told her that unless that flag gets put back up on Monday we're going on strike. I'm not doing it as support for the war but as showing support for our troops risking their lives so people like her can shout her mouth off all she wants.

There isn't a real point to this post it's just a bit of a rant to let off steam. Thank you for your time

I'm all for people having there own opinions on the war, but forcing their views on people like that is just insane and power mad.

I bet she knows nothing about the war either. I bet she is just following the crowd as it seems the moral thing today.

Admittedly, I was against the war as little as a week ago, but my opinion on it has changed quite drastically now, after I have reconsidered the facts.

Peace Out.
