Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use the PS2 memory card to save ordinary PS games (when played on PS2).
I tried out Resident Evil 3 on my PS2 (funny how poor the graphics look in comparison to the next gen games isn't it?!). Anyway I went to save my progress, my PS2 memory card was inserted but I got the error saying that it wasn't.
Did this happen anyone else ?
Any ideas ?

Fortunately it wasn`t as bad as Tetris.
ssxpro, I've also heard some people have experienced "blocks" whilst playing Tekken Tag ...could this be another occurrence of the PS2 Block Bug?

Shouldn't do. I have 7 games at the moment, and they all save on one card with plenty of space to spare.
And a lot of the used space is taken up by Madden NFL 2001, which saves several files, depending on what aspects of the game you use.
Fortunately it wasn`t as bad as Tetris.
You pay £10 for a PS1 Memory card which allows you to save up to 15 "blocks" of information. That is 15 games that can be saved.
The PS2 card saves in files instead of blocks to save space on the memory card. For example a saved file for Tekken Tag Tournament takes up about 250kb (actually my saved file takes up more) So that's 4 saved files of the same size.
The PS2 memory card has gotten bigger because the games take up more space. I hope that other Playstation games don't take up as much space or we will be forced to have a big stack of £30 PS2 memory cards with 3 or 4 files saved on them.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work it out.....
Darkreaper
PS1 Cards = £9.99 128kb storage
PS2 Cards = £28.99 8mb storage
PS2 Cards = 62.5 (rounded down to 1000kb per mb) times the storage cap of PS1 cards
So if we did it on the same system, £9.99 x 62.5 =
£62.50
It dont take a rocket scientist to work out the savings...
