Thoughts?
Terrorist organisation scould have been planting people in the country for decades. Being actively alert for terrorist activity now is a redundant task, as a single phonecall could activate a sleeper who already has a button on the trigger that could kill thousands.
I've no doubt that the security forces know things we don't, but I'm also convinced that they don't know everything.

Not if you know about it ahead of time.
Since September eleventh (which I heard a whisper that there was intelligence on) we have apparently been sharing intelligence, making it harder and harder to set up what you are proposing.
I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but that it's not so easy.
For example, look at the post about Bristol Airport by Solskjær. He's saying they know something we don't, and I have no doubt that they do. Even if they didn't actually find anyone the increase precautions and policve presence may have prevented an attack.
Virtually impossible to detect the communication.

Absolutely, and you can never guard against everything, but the "global war against terror" isn't about one man and his van. It's about organised groups of people, which can be stopped with appropriate intelligence. If there is going to be a terrorist attack from one disgruntled person chances are you can't stop it.

Actually my dad has loadsa contacts there and he had business this morning, so he took me up to the 7th Floor (Club Lounge), where I had breakfast and finished some English homework.

I see you have money to burn, then. Brekkie costs about a tenner there! Unless someone bought it for you, which would be a bonus.

There are types of terrorist attacks that cannot be prepared for though. Obviously, anyone bringing in materials that could be used for some hi-tech chemical assault will be picked up on, but what about the man who owns a large white van who has been buying petrol in large quantities for the last few weeks becuase he is "travelling around the country". He also has the standard chemicals and appliances at home to make a perfectly functional bomb.
Add in a few packs of nail and a few thousand razor blades, and all he needs to do is park it in a crowded area and press the red button.
No-one is safe from terrorism, because anyone can be a terrorist.

Maybe, but we should be ready for it, and should be able to take steps to prevent it. Part of terrorism is to attack when you least expect it. Therefore if we expect an attack, there may not be one, or we may be able to stop it.

Don't know about this one but I really do hope you are right.

Agreed

In Westminster, I was there this morning for breakfats
