So my proposal is to start a thread in which people can recommend good books, without discussion or too much information being provided. Just whole hearted suggestions. I'm happy to take a chance on someone's opinion being valid.

Stephen King's: IT. His best work in my opinion.
Porno: The sequel to Trainspotting.

I'm currently reading The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. A bit longwinded in places but very entertaining. I'm on book 9...there are 10 books so far and the series isn't even finished yet!
