Personally, I think celebrities, as with anyway, is obviously welcome to their own views on the war on Iraq.

However, the Brit awards, although being a yearly shambles, was more of a shambles this year for 2 reasons. Davina McCall and the anti-war messages from Ms Dynamite and Coldplay. The latter being barely coherent.

And as many people have stated, the Oscars should not be allowed to turn into another Brit awards. No anti-war messages please - do it somewhere else. It's not the time, or the place.

And whatever happened to free speech? When it comes down to it the Oscars means absolutely crap all and this (possibly) upcoming war means a little something. If they were allowed to speak on the war I might even watch it for a few minutes.

And even if these people ARE all ill-informed and everyone who watches it DOES just change their mindset to that of the celebrity, who cares? It's not as if the people and their decisions matter. It's no different to a political speaker.

Yeah me too, It's nice to have an important topic to debate again. Do you reckon she will wear a pretty low cut dress or maybe a frilly blouse? I hope she does the former.

Anyway fingers crossed for XXX winning the 7 oscars it's been nominated for!

If the celebrities want to air their views, they should do so on a bona fide discussion programme, so that they can demonstrate exactly how much they know on the subject.

It doesn't matter how importantthe event is. If the producers don't want it to be a podium for 'causes'. Then why should they have to let it be. As I said it isn't the appropriate place. There are many other opportunities for Celebrities to have their say elsewhere. More in fact than for anyone else. The people who run the oscars want the night to be about movies and stuff.

I won't be watching though, because I couldn't care less.

You are correct.
To take away from the importance of awards for pretending to be someone else and receiving millions of dollars to try and express their unhappiness with actionsn that will lead to death and possible destabilisation of the Middle East is wrong!

I hope J-Lo wears a nice dress

How dare these actors think they can demean the Oscar ceremony, which is one of the most important things in the world, by going on about some war with some country that no one has ever heard of. They should be ashamed of themselves.
