i dont smoke so i am going to give it up for the rest of my life

I'll give up when I'm ready, I have enough to worry about without campaigners giving me dirty looks for doing something I've done for 10 years.

smoking may irritate people, and be a risk to peoples health, but so is dangerous driving, wearing gloves while operating drills, shouting in caves and running with scissors. i can't see there being a no running with scissors day, so stop dissing the smokers.

Yeah, I said basically the same thing when someone pointed this out to me today...

Random person: "You know about today don't you?"
I shake my head and inhale deeply and blow the smoke out.
Random person: "It's national no smoking day."
Me: "You know it was national spam day last week? Did you have a tin of spam?"
Random person: "No. I'm a vegetarian so i can't eat spam."
Me: "Well I'm a smoker. I can't NOT smoke."
Random person: "But you could refrain if you made the effort for one day."
Me: "And you could have eaten the bloody spam. Now go away and let me have my fag in peace."
