Right I will not post any of my views on the "should we go to war" etc but something got me thinking.
We are told that America and the UK will go to war without the UN backing, others like Russia are against it too.
A while back there were peace marches all over Britain and the rest of the world.
Now since then I have seen very little in the way of anti-war protests. Have people just given in and accepted it?
If I felt as strongly as some folk seemed to feel about it I would try do something more, surely there are plenty of ways the thousands who are against it could get there point across. Look at the fire strikes, truckers protests over fuel costs etc.
I am all for peaceful marches but maybe to get the point across something that hammers the point home to those making the decisions on war should be carried out.
Like a mass protest in London where people just bring the main city to a standstill?
Just seems odd to me that people say they are totally against it but don't do much to show it.
The biggest demonstration in the history of the country I believe.
I'm for war, I think this should've been addressed years and years ago. Now with military backing from america it can be.
I don't want to go into the whole should we, shouldn't we argument but I really don't see what your point is.
Surely you're not suggesting that the all the anti-war sheep march every day. The economy is already failing because of the threat of war. Do you really think that any further anti war protesting will make a difference. The first marches put enough pressure on Mr Blair, and let him know the public's opinion (although I never heard of a "pro-war march")
I think one problem with such peace marches is that the people are so brainwashed into believe war is bad, we must avoid war at all costs etc etc but they can't offer a viable alternative.
end of ramble
