Just got back from the Villa game and I have to say, I'm in a state of shock. It might just be the fact that I can't believe we lost, but maybe it's the fact that I feared for my health all the way through the game.

We walk towards the ground and there's a full scale riot, objects being thrown here, there and everywhere, screams, shouts, police batons flying, what the hell is it all about?

We're in the ground, you see fights breaking out in the other stands, punches flying, people falling. You don't concentrate on the game, you just wonder if the person next to you is a Blues fan and you'll be the next one on the recieving end of pointless violence.

I've never seen anything like what I have tonight, but I'm safe and so are all my friends, so I guess that's what matters most.

I knew the Villa vs Bham game would be heated because it's of the hatred between the teams and the fans, but what I saw yesterday was just shocking both on and off the field, firstly Dublin headbutting Savage, what's that all about Dion? - it's not even in his nature to do that, Stevie Bruce getting pelted with a coin just before the match started, and all sorts of fights in the crowds and outside the ground with police getting injured amongst the fans. Birmingham got fined because of trouble that occured at St Andrews when these two teams met earlier in the season, so I expect the FA to act again. Emotions are always running high in a football match whether your team loses or wins but that it is dissapointing when fans and players take feel it is neccessary to take things into their own fans - the result of these actions will do nothing other than put them and their team into trouble - so why do it?

I wasn't watching the game, but my dad was - he called me in to see these bits of it.

I know that football evokes a lot of emotion if you are really 'into' it, and I know we all get into very heated discussions on here sometimes. but what these people need to remember is that, at the end of the day, it *is* ONLY a game.

There are far more important things going on in the world, and it doesn't matter if Villa win or Birmingham win - or whether Arsenal win the championship or Man Utd do - it's all pretty trivial stuff in the grand scheme of things.

I cant believe that you cant believe that Villa lost...

We soaked up what little pressure you applied and indeed you had 0 (zero) shots on goal whatsoever... how can be shocked that you lost when Vassen and later Horsfield neither had a solitarity shot to save?

By the way i am a Birmingham City fan incase you hadnt figured that :p
