I hate cynical people, but I'm probably the most cynical person I know, quite strange really.
Was speaking to my little Italian friend in my uni class again today, and after most people passing their modules from semester 1 at uni without putting in any serious effort, again, it got me thinking about what actually constitutes an education these days??
This Italian guy I know is over here at uni so that he can get out of doing compulsary military service in Italy. That's just so cool, NATO goes to war with Iraq, and the guys who might be fighting are 18 year old Italians who are forced by law to "serve" their democratic leadership through the military. The same lovely democratic Italians will be sitting in their comfy leather sofas, deciding upon the fate of their people by taking the advice of a sheep, following another sheep, following another sheep who is following a Texan Bush which has it's roots firmly drenched in oil.
The wiff of stale oil is strong with this one, what is it? 50 years to go until fossil fuels run out? Hmmm, whilst America rejoice in owning about 80% of the UKs oil fields, and they really don't want the Iraqi oil, it belongs to the Iraqi people. How many bookmakers will give me odds on a new democratic Iraq being given "tied" aid which states that they can get as much help from America as they like, as long as the American oil imports stay cheap and cheerful. Meanwhile, back home in Texas, the stockpiling of America's own il continues, and the rest of the world suffers shortages as Amerca soaks up all the oil, and begins flogging it off an extortionate prices.
Then where do we go next? North Korea? Well, we need to get rid of everyone's nuclear weapons, except for our own of course, we're allowed them, because we're good, uncorrupted and holy right in our cause.
Now far be it for me to judge, but if the school bully has a pellet gun adn that's why everyone is scared of him, I would go out and get my hands on one too, and everyone would know that I could get my hands on it whenever I liked. The cool guy, wouldn't like it, he'd huff, and he'd puff, and then all his mates would give me a doing while he was off spending my lunch money, bet you didn't see that one coming did you?
How much of the North Korean problem has to do with the openly public supported opium fields in North Korea? How much longer will American politicians suck up to middle class citizens by telling them that their kids are smoking dope and snorting coke because the nasty little korean farmer is growing heroin for a bag of rice to feed his starving and famine ridden children?
When will the World's Police Force wise up and see that helping these people and setting an example will reduce terrorism, reduce hatred, reduce crime and reduce their own problems at home?
