As the country prepares for the impending war that no-one wants, I thought I should share with you some patent double standards that exist in the world we live in. If this might strike you as being biased, it's not. These are simple matters of FACT:

Q. Which country alone in the middle east has nuclear weapons?
A. Israel.

Q. Which country refuses to sign a non-proliferation treaty and bars international inspectors?
A. Israel.

Q. Which country is in defiance of 69 UN resolutions and has been protected in 20 of these cases by a US veto on the security council?
A. Israel.

Q. Which country has assassinated a high-ranking UN official?
A. Israel.

Q. Which country has just re-elected as Prime Minister the man who ordered that assassination?
A. Israel.

Q. Which country has dispossessed 4,000 Palestinains by demolishing their homes, has created 760,000 refugees, refusing them permission to return to their farms and businesses?
A. Israel.

Q. Which country regularly breaks the Geneva Convention by imposing collective "punishments" on whole towns and villages?
A. Israel.

Q. Which country has used a weapon of mass destruction (i.e. a "smart bomb") on a densely populated civilian area, killing 15 civilians, including 9 children?
A. Israel.

Q. Which country receives weaponry from the US for nothing, which it sells to China in defiance of protests to the US?
A. Israel.

Q. Which country, reckoned to be the 16th richest in the world, receives a third of all US overseas aid?
A, Yes, you've guessed correctly - Israel.

Before anyone tries to rebuke these statments of fact: they are extracts of a report/questionnaire compiled by Brigadier James J David (retired), Company Commander of the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam from 1969-70 and a veteran of three years active duty in the Middle East 1966-70.

So there we have it. Truth is a double edged sword and the current plight of the world is no exception.

So, they should stop attacking the people who have taken their homes and their lands, and instead target their aggression at who?

What about stopping suicide bombings targeting civilians on purpose eh ?

Hans Blix, who, being the cheif UN weapons inspector, I suspect knows what he is talking about...

The (near enough) exact figure for that is $5 billion

They were removed from their country by the UN, and replaced by the Israeli's. You think that they're just going to take it up the rear and get on with life?

Where is the proof?

I'm not pretending to be enlightened. I've known about this for some time. I just thought other should know especially in light of Iraq breaching ONE UN reoslution.

> a smart bomb is not a WMD and you know it.

Yes it is. It's classed as a "WMD". Read up on definitions of WMD's before you say that. Just because it's not a nuclear or chemical weapon doesn't mean it's not a WMD. Even anti personnel mines count as WMD's.

No, I'm saying how can you possibly go to war with Iraq when you haven't sorted out the Israel/Palestine crisis FIRST. Because they have been

That's neither here nor there. The US has assassinated more high ranking people from other countries. Also, no Iraqi has killed a UN official.

Can it compare to killing people in their hundreds of thousands over a 30 year period? No.

> Q. Who has missiles whose range exceeds that needed for defence

By about 30 miles because they haven't been fitted with the weapons guidance systems. A very minor offence and certainly not justifiable for a war.

As does Mugabe, except he didn't do it for oil. Which means he's not worth the effort of a war because there's no oil involved.

Making up questions? I deliberately stated where I got the report/questoinaire from so NO-ONE would dispute it. For more info, if you disbelieve me, you might want to read The Israeli Holocaust Against The Palestinains by M Hoffman and prof. Moshe Liebberman by writing to 253 W72nd Street, Apartment 1711, New York, NY1002

> As usual all this lot, apart from the answers to the Q's, is my opinion.

You can't justify a war against Iraq when other nations are equally as guilty. You can't have one rule for one and one for another. So lets me put this to you, Belldandy - should the US attack Israel? If not, why not?

Hey if you want to go for hypocrisy, try someone concocting a set of questions to which they already know the answers, and pretends they are somehow enlightened for knowing this..... a smart bomb is not a WMD and you know it.

I don't actually get your point, are you saying war against Iraq is wrong but a war against Israel is not ?

Q. Who has assassinated more high ranking Israeli officials than I can name ? The Palestinians.

Q. Who has used a chemical weapon on civilians killing thousands ? Iraq, Saddam Hussein.

Q. Who has "lost" over 400 prisoners from the Gulf War and, despite protests from Kuwait, America, Amnestt, the UN e.t.c. still cannot find them ? Iraq.

Q. Who has missiles whose range exceeds that needed for defence against an invading force ? Iraq.

Q. Who drew attention to himself by invading a neighbouring country, stealing from that country, killing that country's civilians, burning that country's oil fields causing one of the worst ecological disasters of that decade, and who uses money from what little trade allowed by sanctions for himself and his military whilst his people die and starve ? Saddam Hussein.

So you see, making up questions and putting the answers is quite pointless in my opinion. We have several world leaders who believe in this, and I tend to believe them.

As usual all this lot, apart from the answers to the Q's, is my opinion.
