HL2 just goes with the rest of the generic FPS's for me, just a very pretty one.
Didn't have any real atmosphere apart from ravenhome'?'(or what ever it's name was).
and isn't "Queen Mary" a college in Cambridge or Oxford or something?
Fair enough I haven't seen one game that has done a decent job of pointy leaved plants (partcularly letting down the amazingness of Killzon on PS2), but it's still frustrating. The rest is nice, just not perfect.
I'm sure in 1-2 years time you'll be laughing all the way from your Queen Mary's university at how bad HL2 graphics were.
Half Life 2 is fantastic. I almost didn't get it because Half Life was utterly, utterly balls, but I'm glad I risked it.

Yes. But those shots had jaggy sides and stuff.
In others, plants in the foreground look like chainsaws.
In general there were some amazing little smooth graphics. But I'm sure they'd be better with a better graphics card at one of our ends.
It did have it's good bits but othere than looks and a few impressive engine tricks it was pretty poo.

HL2 is the most beautiful game ever.
