I've just tried updating my 'Counter Strike' with the built-in online update, and was told I couldn't, because my Internet connection is invalid.
It recommended I look at my settings.
I've never had this sort of warning before, and don't quite know how my connection is invalid.
Does anyone know what might be the problem?
Thanks
Or maybe someone will create an ftp server on your connection and upload child porn to it?
Hackers these days don't target individual machines, they have their tools scan entire ranges of ip addresses looking for open, interesting or easy targets. The point about installing firewalls and the like is to make your computer look as uninteresting and closed as possible, so the hacker moves on.
He can try what he wants .... I've got everything I need backed up :)
Any version to 1.5:

1.4 to 1.5:

Remove the spaces in between the directories and sub directories obviously :)
If that doesn't work you could always try the official CS forums (even if they are full of morons err, forget I said that :) )
I don't have a firewall installed at the moment on my side ... and wouldn't of though they wouldn't let their software designed for updating get to their servers.
Strange.
