Ok, new question: If you could go back in time and kill Lisa Riley (The annoying woman from "You've been framed") before she had a chance to make TV that little bit worse for all of us, would you do it?
Getting back to the original question - no.
Like other have said, you can't predict how the future would turn out if you did so. I remember a long time ago that I read that during WW1, when Hitler was wounded, a british sniper actually had him dead in his sights, but because he was wounded he held fire and let him live. Even so, the sniper took the right decision, in my opinion.
If you look back, much of the world today is a better place because of WW2 - the need for the UN, IMF, WB, GATT e.t.c. the developments stemming from the Cold War, by and large the aftermath led to a better world, even if it still isn't perfect.
