My new PS2 has enlightened my life. I have played F1 World Championship 2000, and the graphics are spectacular!! It's a lot faster, and is overall brilliant!! I've played the SSX demo, FIFA 2001 demo and Wild Wild Racing demo, and the first 2 are also brilliant, but Wild Wild Racing is poor. I am getting TTT tomorrow, and I want to win Timesplitters on here.

It's just that a PS2 would have been covered under the accidental cover section of your House and Contents Insurance policy. Any item under a certain value (usually around £1500) is covered against breakage, knocks, spillage etc. by any standard cover policy.
What you should do is send the receipt to your insurers, tell them it is beyond repair, claim for £299, get a cheque, and in the meantime send the PS2 off to be repaired. Most insurance companies never check up on claims under the value of £500, anything over £500 and they use the loss adjusters to look for evidence.
You could probably still claim now seeing as it wasn't that long ago.
