"I'm quitting..."

Argos.

Why? Well I am just not cut out for the job as a stock assistant. All my skills that I enjoy using are hidden putting away huge heavy boxes on shelves in a dark and dank stockroom.

I'm supposed to be doing 2.5 hours a day - yesterday I clocked up 6 hours. That was me working as fast as possible, trying to finish my job so I could get home to my dog (my responsibilty to clear up after him), go over my grandparents and give the car engine a run for a few minutes, book a driving test, sort out my UCAS application for next year etc. etc. I had the store manger breathing down my neck saying we weren't working fast enough.

I'd rather be out serving the public or using the skills I learnt at A-level. Nothing in my Chem/Phys/Bio or maths taught me how to move stuff in a stockroom, although physics taught me how to move it a bit easier in some cases.

That is why I am busy writing up my notice now. I'd rather scrimp and save than work there for another second.

Do you think I'm doing the right thing?

I think I'll send you an e-card on your birthday. It'll probably get seen then - otherwise it'll lay on your doormat for days before you leave the forum to check your mail!

My girlfriend likes making cards, she enjoys scrapbooking too. She just needs to use more stronger glue :/

Not when people keep opening the same musical card :) or can't read the prices thing properly and end up tkaing the card back because it's too expensive.

At least you work in the light in tesco - all the work is done in a very dark stockroom in Argos! And in tesco... tesco girls work there! :P

Also applied to work in a card shop - which is bound to be more fun!

Well Jason if you don't enjoy doing the work I suppose you should quit. Perhaps working in a supermarket might be better.

I'll be fine - now driving lessons have stopped. It's annoying as the job prevents me working an afternoon shift at the dentist as there is no guarranteed finish time.

Plus I'm searched like a criminal everytime I leave :(
