Brother came back from Uni for the weekend, and bought his Jap version of Zelda too. Naturally I slapped it intomy shiny shiny Q and got playing :D

Firstly allow me to reaasure you that it is easily the best game on all the next gen consoles (I'm not including Skies of Arcadia, that's a given).

Anyway, The Legend of Zelda: Kaze no Takuto was the title we were told, but I propose this question; How thick are you?

There it was, clearly written ON THE BOX

"The Legend of Zelda: Takt Of Wind"

underneath the Japanese written title.

hmmmm

Anyway, I don't want to spoil anything for you, but the start is 50x better than OOT's. Sure, there is no detailed intro the story, but why should there be? The game starts off in happy times after all, besides, it's far more exciting to suddenly have this giant bird swoop from the sky clutching a girl in it's talons, with Pirates in toe, suddenly turning up offshore your peaceful village.

The fighting is superb, a good improvment on OOT's and MM's. The moves are smooth and there's a great new addition to the roster, but I won't spoil the suprise :D Also, when defeated they die in simply beautiful swirls of stylish smoke, far better than vapourising like in Starfox.

My favourite moment?

Buying some weird fruit from the shop, that looks like a screaming face.

I 'used' it to be greated by a humourous cut-scene of Link balancing it on it's head, then seeing a seagul swoop down to eat it off it's head. the good bit? You then get to be the seagul! You can fly around everywhere, t'was very cool.

Oh, and intro is cool, some lovely piccalo music, and it looks like it tells the story of the different generations of Links, that come by whenever the Triforce is in danger.

Can't wait for my US copy :D Everyone should be this, even you AJ.

I want the Wind Waker more every time someone mentions it. Even if it turns out to be only half as good as Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, it'll be one excellent game.
