Yeah, I've been raving on about Malice for a while, but the presentation was dissapointing, and the Oddworld game looked crap, uninteresting... just a 3D version of their crappy 2D game.

Really?
The pictures i saw of the girl with the hammer were fantastic.
I thought it was pretty good considering it was running on a year old graphics chip, the current GeForce GTS.
Just imagine what the real graphics chip will produce!

Hopefully given the right games this console will make for an interesting future.

Wookie - Although i agree with your statement i must say that the demo's for the PS2 looked just like the games we see now - visually impressive. The content of the PS2 games are the question here.
Maybe it isn't "How bad the games are compared to the demo's", maybe it's "How much things have progressed with other platforms since the PS2 demo's" which makes the PS2 and it's game seem lacklustre.
I'm sure that something like it will happen with the X-Box but as it is so far ahead now it might not be such a let down as the PS2 was for a lot of people.

Only a few thoughts.

No took, I watched it all happening live over the internet. Pretty good pictures, but it was so dissapointing.

Okay, well - apologies Sniper, but I must just say this...

What I *don't* like about the XBox, just from looking at the pictures...

The design. Irrelevant maybe, but more of a fan heater than a horizintal PS2.

Also, not entirely sure about the 'offset' analogue joysticks.

Well this is about what the GBA has! Not about the X-Box!
The title of the forum has Bill Gates because he thinks he's so big in the console market already.

Demos *always* look amazing though, because they do relatively little, have been extensively optimised to sell the machine, and have *all* the power of the machine devoted to them. It's different when you're computing an entire world in real time. Look how impressive the PS2 demos were, compared to the "lacklustre" first wave of games.

I've no doubt the XBox will be a good machine, but don't judge a console by it's demos!

Were you there Grix?
From what i've heard the, X-Box, will obliterate everything. This comes from console sites and PC sites.

I for one am very excited. This is the only recent console to ACTUALLY live up to the hype.

Yeah, but the Playstation came out first. The X-Box will be last.

And judging by yesterdays demo, which was crap, Microsoft have a lot to do.

How was the PSX released at 300, when it had (at the time) better graphics than PC games? It's all to do with standardised mass produced components

As for Bill picking thr wrong time... the same was said about Sony's PSX, esp when it had half the amount of bits as the N64

The one thing that puzzles me is, how do MS plan to release a machine with the spec of a £1500 (or more) PC for around £200?
