I'm reading the Two Towers at the mo and well..I always had the thought in the back of my mind that Sam was gay. Guess I was right...

'Sleep!' Said Frodo and sighed, as if out of a desert he had seen a mirage of cool green. 'Yes, even here I could sleep.'
'Sleep then, master! Lay your head in my lap'"
Blah blah Gollum comes back...
" Sam sat propped up against the stone, his head dropping sideways and his breathing heavy. In his lap lay Frodo's head, drowned deep in sleep; upon his white forehead lay ones of Sam's brown hands, and the other lay softly upon his master's breast. Peace was in both their faces"

I know it's immature, but I'm bored and am in need of a cheap laugh.

I only got around to seeing the Two Towers yesterday, and I had to bite my knuckle to stop myself laughing when porky Sean Austin started saying "It's your Sam".
He doesn't half get jealous when Gollum enters the scene too.

We always suspected it anyway...but I think Tolkien was trying to paint a picture of brotherly love rather than sexual friction betweem Sam and Frodo...it's just misconstrued in this day and age.

I think he's jealous that Frodo spends his time fingering someone elses ring.
I had similar suspicions, what with sam being a gardener, he must have had his hand in pete frequently.
