How?

Seeing as I start it in safe mode and it tells me I have to run scandisk to fix some errors..

But scandisk takes ages and keeps restarting for some reason...

I'm gonna leave scandisk on overnight to do a thorough scan...

Hopefully it will finish by tomorrow morning...

Why does it keep restarting though?

Hmmmm, it's in safe mode and the only program running is explorer!

I've also only got 3.5 gig left!

May have to delete a few things!

Clears out temp files left after program installations, offline web pages, that sort of stuff.

My Disk Defragmenter still shows 0% after too long, though.

And what is Disk Cleanup? Is that basically the same as ScanDisk? What does it do?

If you're using Norton or a virus scanner, disable them because they might be hogging it for something like disk optimization.

I only did scandisk because defrag told me I had errors...

I did a thorough scan and a defrag and it's all working nicely now!

Must I use scandisk before defragmenting? Because last time I tried defragmenting without using Scandisk first, and left it for three days and two nights, and it was still at 0%.

Well, after 10 restarts it comes up with a screen asking if you want to see the warning again, I kept on opening the desktop properties, thus restarting scandisk 10 times in doing so, the message popped up and I told it to just get on with it's job and stop being a tart...

I then left it!
