"Bad news."

I've just been told one of my friends (long distance, see every few months etc) has cancer.

Shes 15.

My grandma died of cancer.

Good luck to her. At this age, she should, surely, be strong enough to fight it.

I think the stats are around 1 in 3 or 4 people will develope cancer at some point in there lives, its not pleasant but its a fact of life that many of us will die of this. A rather chilling thought

I had to be checked last year when I was 16 just in case

I thought it was impossible for a person under 18 to get cancer too.

But a girl in my school died of it a year ago. Also a friend of mine (who's 16) has it. So it is possible, but probably not as common as people over 18 ?

Not sure - shes been feeling unwell since October.

Its early for tests though.

So.

Just have to wait and hope.
