It sounds like Digi got this from the New York Times. They printed a story before Christmas about Sega being sold to Nintendo. Since then both Sega and Nintendo have asked for public apologies from the New York Times over the lies they had printed.
Actually, Digi have now printed a news story that says Sega deny this rumour, so trusting Digi as the facts is not always the correct thing to do. Anyway, Digitiser printed the story as a rumour, not a fact.
I'd rather have them as seperate companies anyway, it makes the games more diverse and gives you a better choice of platforms. Incidentally, Sega have also denied the rumour that they are not making another console.

Both companies have apparently denied this. When they deny things like this it really means that they are not interested. i.e. sounds like Nintendo are not interested.
Nah what will happen is Nintendo will buy Sega and then you will still have Sega products (games but not consoles) and you will have a NINTENDO logo hidden on the products.
