Anyone know if these have been confirmed as anything other than "launch window" yet?
" ...and modern game on a console where things like tunnels or battery failure don't hamper the machine..."
What was that? Battery failure?
The PSP Battery doesn't work long enough to 'fail'. It's so short on life that all PSP's have to be considered 'faulty'.
Haha.
And that's just on a Gameboy colour, the game (Dragon Warrior Monster) was relatively unheard of and not very technical but I loved the Pokemon elements, such as 'collecting' animals by killing enough to get their medal.
It a game like that can be played for hours then a sophisticated and modern game on a console where things like tunnels or battery failure don't hamper the machine on journeys so much, or where you might decide to play that instead of a console, could obviously be played for hours, especially a game like GTA.

It looks crap. It'll control bad. And no-one can play a portable for long enough in one go to make a good session of it.
In my opinion...
When I got my Xbox I looked forward to Halo, JSRF, Blinx and numerous other games whereas the 360 sees repackaging of tried and tested Xbox games that I never liked much anyway (like DOA)
One of the games I've been looking forward to since the launch of the Xbox is BC, yet now that has seemingly slipped into oblivion and is scheduled for a 360 launch.
It's best to bide your time and wait until stock is available, the prices have fallen and there's games that aren't just floorfillers.
Here's a nice little article on the top 10 release games (the site editors choice of course) and some others due at launch

I'll wait and see what is actually on offer in terms of new things to catch my interest instead of just games I've already got with a higher resolution.
I'm thoroughly enjoying my PSP at the moment and Liberty City Stories looks more engaging than most of the 360 launch games.
I'll wait for a drop in price and good titles before I shell out, after all, Xbox games will be reduced in price after the 360's launch.
