Yeeehaaaaw!
But then again, my sense of humour may be different to yours :)
Sorry did I say that out loud

Funny how Wenger manages never to see things isn't it.............
Myopia, i guess.
but I'd say he probably has the best seat in the house at Highbury yet never manages to see anything his team to wrong. Odd,
> And again, it's odd that it's only the ManYoo fans whining about it!
Of course whenever something happens at Old Trafford when a United player gets away with something the goons never whine about it at all do they? :\
> At the end of the day, Wenger said in one sentence "I didn't see

Seeing that "he was just protecting the ball" does not mean he saw any contact. From the dugout to the other side of the pitch, with players between, and with Bowyer between him and Bergkamp, he'd have been hard pressed to see anything other than Bowyer hitting the deck.
The other thing I find strange is that when Cole was caught by Cisse in the first game of the season (and he WAS caught, though the sending-off that followed was very harsh), went down under the challenge, then got up, he was labelled a cheat. Bowyer does the same, and it's not a problem!
And again, it's odd that it's only the ManYoo fans whining about it!
It wasn't great just because of HOW he finished it, or even how late it came... For me, it was great because it was against Chelsea - just like his TWO goals against Liverpool - whether luck was on-his-side or not!
Bring on Arsenal!! :@
Further, the FA ARE investigating the incident anyway.
Let's face it though, Bergkamp's record is far from sparkly clean...
>If the game had ended 1-1, would you really care?
I would have loved the game to have finished at 1-1, I don't deny that because it would have been great for us, but as a football supporter I would still have discussed this as with any other contorversial incident that happens in the game today - simply because there isn't enough consistancy.
> But they haven't? - each website have got the exact wording quoted
> from Mr Wenger.
But they don't all quote Mr Wenger - many quote each other. Many use reports from the same sources and adapt them slightly. I saw a match report just a few weeks ago on three different websites, and all were worded basically the same - the same quotes, everything - with a minor change here and there.
> But that makes no sense? - In games week in week out we get 2 footed
> challenges and other ones which look harmful but are not with intent,
> but they are given a red card and have to sit out games
And we're back to interpretation and consistency. Regarding the incident yesterday, I think that the ref was spot-on. That's not as an Arsenal fan, that's just going by what I saw - there could not have been any intent, because Bergkamp did not once look in Bowyer's direction; if he was intending to hit him in the face, his arm would have been higher - he couldn't possibly have known that Bowyer was bent almost double.
> Yet bergkamp doesnt? even if the intent was there he got a small fine and no ban.
Indeed, I disagreed with the fine. They obviously decided there was no intent, so there should have been no punishment. If he was guilty, he should have been banned.
> Yeh but why exactly did he say that? - could be because it was at
> Highbury and he knows that he wont get much there because of decisions
> not given in the past
More likely that it's all he felt it deserved, if anything.
> Im not talking as a Man Utd fan
I wasn't talking about you in particular, hence the "all you" part!
I just can't help but wonder if there's be all this hoo-har if the cross that followed hadn't led to our second goal. If a free-kick had been awarded and West Ham had cleared the ball away, would we even be discussing this in such detail? If the game had ended 1-1, would you really care?
> No, not just Sky - ANY media will blow it up out of proportion.
But they haven't? - each website have got the exact wording quoted from Mr Wenger. The wording being exactly the same, sky and bbc are probabaly the most respected media (if there was any), if this was say in the sun or the mirror then id understand but it simply isn't and read the sites they don't really blow anything out of proportion it just says in quotes what wenger said.
>He will obviously have seen it since. And I still say he's wrong.
Then we are agreed - he is an Idiot!
> A ban should only follow if there was *intent*. I've already
> explained why I believe there was no intent - you'll just have to go
> back and read it.
But that makes no sense? - In games week in week out we get 2 footed challenges and other ones which look harmful but are not with intent, but they are given a red card and have to sit out games - Yet bergkamp doesnt? even if the intent was there he got a small fine and no ban.
> Roeder himself has already said that he wouldn't have expected any
> more than a free kick,
Yeh but why exactly did he say that? - could be because it was at Highbury and he knows that he wont get much there because of decisions not given in the past
>so all you whining Mancs are simply getting
> uptight over a non-event, simply because you didn't close the gap to 2
> or 3 points, as far as I'm concerned!
Im not talking as a Man Utd fan - if I criticise its what I believe is my opinion not because im a Man Utd Fan, Wookie you should know that more than anyone, your sounding like Sniper's with comments like that.
> Ah! Did you not watch the game, then? You can't have missed it if
> you did. Or is it your turn for this mysterious selective vision?
I honestly cant remmeber the incident, so I cant comment - If I had seen it then I would have admitted to it like admnitting to us playing crap this season, Ruud Diving at times and and if someone should be charged then I will say so -- at least I can admit it. You gooners cant even admit to being fortunate at times.
> The whole problem is consistency, or the lack of, among officials and
> the FA.
Agreed.
> Maybe Arsenal have got away with a few things, but as a ManYoo fan,
> you can't shout about *anything*, because your team isn't exactly
> known for their gentlemanly behaviouor either!
Again I never say our team is gentlemanly -- but at least I admit to it, I don't defend stupidity by players.
