The Who star Pete Townshend admitted to viewing child pornography on the internet. He admitted to giving his credit card details to a site allowing to view child porn images and two MP's and another rockstar are also linked to giving their credit card details to an american site. But its all ok because he "didnt download anything". A quote taken from bbc

The reason he did it is largly irrelevant as the crime is viewing the images, not enjoying them. However, the fact is there are too many breaches of this crime for them all to even be brought to trial let alone conviction.
Therefore the police go for the high profile people first to send out a warning shot. I'd be concerned that Pete Townsend will be charged purely because he is responsible for some of the UKs greatest music rather than for what he actually did.

Research or not, you don't help the kids involved by giving money to these websites.
