The Who star Pete Townshend admitted to viewing child pornography on the internet. He admitted to giving his credit card details to a site allowing to view child porn images and two MP's and another rockstar are also linked to giving their credit card details to an american site. But its all ok because he "didnt download anything". A quote taken from bbc

Nah, I've read lots on this and I'm pretty convinced he's telling the truth. He said he was 'no Gary Glitter' and he's right - it's not as if they've found thousands of dodgy pictures on his hard drive or anything. He's told police they can search his machine for illicit materials, and his reaction to me suggests someone who's desperately trying to clear their name for good reason.
What I don't get, is that if police can get your details and work out that you visited this site, why can't they shut it down? I mean, if they know it's there, why is it... still there?

I agree, but his details were found on a site. Isnt that nearly enough evidence?? Unless someone else used his credit card, but thats a bit far fetched. I agree he is no Gary Glitter, Townsehend is cool
No, he admitted that he entered the site because he was curious as to what was on there. He claims he's writing a book, and he also claims he thinks he was abused as a child. He's also played many benefits for children who have suffered abuse.

Meh. I'm not even a big fan of The Who, I just know a guilty man when I see one. Like Gary Glitter. How many people came out and said "Gary Glitter? No way!" when he was accused? Mark my words, this will all be forgotten in about 2 weeks. Until the new rock star is exposed. And Liam Gallager is brought in for questioning.

I aggre with you there i dont like the daily mail along with the sun and the telegraph. The Mirror, The Guardian and The Times are the papers to read.

I think Townsend is guilty, the police have said that you can be tracked down if you enter such websites 10 times or more, even if he was doing research, lock him up and then he can research the consequences!
