I've been trying to install a highly configurable forum on freeola, the only trouble is it needs cgi freeola has that, so I tried uploading some files: here are the files I want to upload or at least similar to these bssdbz.blahpro.com/
the end result after installing the files should be, bssdbz.blahpro.com/YaBB.cgi(The forum i'm trying to upload) but i've tried uploading them but for some reason can't i've e-mail freeola on the matter but they couldn't help,

so I thought there might be some brainy people who could help!

I've gotta ask!

But Freeola don't allow databases?

Where is the database hosted? Does this mean that it is possible to host the database somewhere like Lycos and keep the main forums on Freeola?

I'm having a similar problem installing an ikonboard on my site which is hsoted on freeola. It seems to have installed and everything, and I'm pretty sure everything uploaded OK, and file persmissions changed etc. But I've no idea how to access it. I don't seem to be able to get to the index page under the CGI folder, as freeola returns a 403 error claiming there was no index page (even if I put index.html in the address), and the index page from the iB_html file under htdocs usefully tells me I've gone there in error, and returns this:



403: Ikonboard -> Forbidden

OK, Lycos doesn't allow .cgi

What free hosts do allow me?

I want one I can access via my NTL account for teh time being before dialing up to Freeola to upload the finished version...

I'm giving this YaBB a go at the moment, Lycos allow PHP but I'm not to sure about perl or whatever YaBB uses!

Doesn't seem to work though, I've got some work to do..

... that's because the /htdocs isn't part of the Web Address.

OK, done, but now, I can't access the files like I would a normal website.
