Add to this the fact that one of the modules was entirely coursework based, i.e. no exam, and you can understand why I'm slightly annoyed.
To recap: Two weeks to have two exams. One of them is really easy, one of them is really hard.
So when is the hard one? Monday morning, at 9am. Great. And the easy? 10 days later, on the thursday. Sometimes I think God likes making things difficult for me...
Especailly timed essay writing
40 minutes to write 800-1500 words on a question you've never seen
Yeah, that's fair.
Still got an A :D
We have to do loads (and pass) coursework throughout the year and then sit an exam which you have to pass as well.
I don't quite see the point of the exam, they show who can revise and "memorise" things better and not really show how well you understand a specific class.
Also when in life can you not look up a book, notes or the net to help with work - its not like they make you sit in an exam like situation and make you do it entirely from memory.
I go for the continuous assessment and coursework as being better than a final exam. Not only does that mean you have to work throughout the course and not just at the end but you also learn and remember more I think.
Whoever thought of exams should be shot.
The first one, on Monday, is Advance Digital Electronics, so it's all truth tables and circuit diagrams. Been going over some past questions so it shouldn't be too bad...
Poor bagger.
My mate's exam timetable last year was awful
4 out of 5 exams in 6 days
Poor him
Apart from that it seemes pretty easy. we'll see when I get my results back though.
I like exams where I know the answers...
The enjoyment for me was working out how to answer the essay questions with minimal knowledge (revision pah!) and this usually resulted in frantic writing.
I did a two hour essay based exam on my MSc in one hour and got an A. No one liked me much after that...
My exam technique involves last minute cramming of facts and then an explosion of scrawling, non-stop until I am repleted of any more words. As for structure: One paragraph of summing up the whole essay, core and conclusion.
One tip, don't ever finish with a quote or an opinion, just agree with all the points you have just made or have already been quoted.
Oh and don't ramble on like I am now.
"I agree with everything just written"
A sagacious fanboy.
Next is on the 20th so I have been trying to study and get most of the revision I need done but I just can't seem to concentrate for long enough. I hate exams.
Good luck with them.
good luck with both. and beware of the 'easy bug'.. you know. thinking oh yes, exam's too easy. you walk out confident, only to get the result that you failed. watch out for it :0)
