I was looking at a AMD Athlon 64 3700+ but i'm now thinking bigger, now i'm looking at AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+.
I need a CPU that is pretty much going to last for 2 years or at least a while.
Thoughts? other CPU suggestions?

I'll probably wait a month or two as i have no income at the moment, although i do have the money to buy it now.
Bloody hell thats cheap for SR http://specialreserve.co.uk/AMD-Athlon-64-3700-R_1549_r.html

Then add on VAT...
The only way you can get the chip as cheap as that is if you buy it OEM, bit risky for such an expensive cpu.
Komplett have one for £365 inc vat so i'd probably get it from there unless i can find cheaper.
unfortunatly SR let me down as they appeard to have a very cheap 3700+ but they had the wrong pricing on it :( i probably would have got it this week.
But i think i might look for something better if i'm getting the 4400 adn just have the AGP slot
http://www.omplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=303412&cks=PRL probably that one, but to be honest i could do with some help picking a motherboard as i haven't really got a clue.
PCI Express is definitely the way to go. I don't think you can get an AGP version of an nForce 4 mobo, which would have been the best option.
