It's still a very decent card, I'm doing a workaround for the encoding problem, and will just plug the wires into my amps 'external decoder' ports. Will require a fair few wires though.

Only problem is, my PC is now too slow to run the games that came with it properly (Hitman 2 and soldier of fortune 2). I'm still running on an 800mhz processor, even though I have 512mb RAM and a GeForce 4 card.

It's going to cost a bit to upgrade though. New processor needs new motherboard, which then needs new DDR RAM. Argh, I hate upgrades!

Nice diagram.

Ew that encoding sucks. I'm seriously thinking of getting a TerraTec,

Same as any other sound card, as far as I know. Stereo jacks. Although I'm not too sure about the connector for the rear centre, sub, and front centre - that must be a different type.

I've taken a screenshot of a diagram that came with the software.

Also, take note that the card does not ENCODE digital sound, so the digital output will only work on DVDs. For games, the analog connections must be used.

Are they phono cables or just stereo jacks?

Yeah, I thought that. It leads me to think the PLatinum may have more to it than the LiveDrive.

Can you tell me what ports the Audigy 2 has on the back please?

Nah. I don't need the front plate, I've got a full separate dolby digital decoder for that. :-)

Besides, I was surprised how much extra it was just for that little bay!
