You'll never make it in a rock band.
I know it's your dreams and everything, but starting to learn the guitar in years 7 - 11, just as everybody else is, is not the way to do it.
:-D
My other mate lent our mate Seb's guitar... never played it
Seb is the ONLY musical kid in our group, as he can play the piano and is pretty good with a guitar. Everyone else should just accept that they can't play, and not bother
Mate asked "Don't you want to be able to play an instrument?" to which I answered "No, why would I want to?" Pretty much sums it up
People who don't know the difference between a camera and a computer don't try and make games or films, so why do some people assume they can pick up a guitar or any other instrument and suddenly discover they have musical talent? Musical talent seemed to skip me (my dad has it, my sister has it... I don't... it's not like the force) and I'm not bothered at all. Perfectly happy with my film making talents
I got one because since I was a kid I always wanted to learn. Now I am doing something about it before I get old and regret not doing it.
For me, my dad has always played his around the house etc and it is the only instrument I have really been interested in playing.
Especially when I like musicians like Hendrix, Clapton, Jimmy Page, Santana who are all top guitarists.
I see the point that it seems everyone is wanting to play them, instruments like violins, trumpets etc are really expensive and not really in common use with kids. If someone wants to learn then I say good on them.
