Shenmue was also amazing in graphics and story structure. It all narrows down to whether or not you enjoy the old fighting style or the new futureistic sooting espionage acion.
I value them the same at the moment but i believe mgs2 will change my opinion!!
Thanks for reading!
What are your opinions?
there is a sequel already in development in japan!!!
As for this MGs V sHENMUE? Well, I agree, they are two completely different games, and cannot be compared. MGS was amazing, and I managed to play for a few hourts on my mates PS and it has indeed pushed the PS to its limits, but Shenmue has not pushed the DC any where near according to Yu Suzuki - claiming that only 30% processing power was used or something like that, and let's not forget that the game is a good year and a half old!!! But then the japanese always get the best things first :<(!!
As for MGS v Shenmue, it's not really a fair comparison, as MGS is on a 32-bit console and Shenmue on 128-bit, so you would expect a lot more from the DC based game.
MGS pushed the PSX to its very limits, Shenmue pushes the DC closer to its boundaries, but I think there is still more available from the Sega console if developers are still willing to create ground breaking games for it. I don't think the same could be said for the PSX. In my view it has reached its limits, anything groundbreaking for it now would have to have MGS gameplay, FF storylines and outstanding graphics. So why bother, just do it for the PS2 instead.
Merry Xmas by the way!! I've been making a complete fool out of myself thanks to a certain dancing music game with maracas! I felt in good company though as everyone in my family got up and had a go at the latino party extraveganza - even my Grandma!
I don't need my exercise bike any more - Samba De Amigo is the most energentic game ever, and to put it simplt, after 5 minutes of play I was shattered (and that was one easy mode!)
Cheers

I love the espionage type game (MGS), I love a game where the plot twists and turns and things you do will effect what happens later on and where the characters are brilliant and the graphics are superb and there is a training mode and the weapons are good and there are gadgets and funny bits and sad bits and is overall brilliant (MGS). *Deep Breath*
But I think Shenmue is a different kind of game, so you can't really compare them.
But I think MGS2 will sell more due to the brilliance of its predessecor.
