Peach's Cake Terrorists:
A 4-player Mini-game where you have 2 minutes to lob as many of Peach's rock-solid cakes through the windows of Microsoft HQ, which although sounds a bit dodgy, can produce some magic results - for example, if you smash enough cakes through the smallest, and hardest to reach window, Bill Gates himself comes out to bawl at you. More points can be gained if you smack him in the face with 5 or more cakes. Splendid fun, and I can't see why they left this one out.
Mario Party Wrestling:
The mini-game that would have Wrestling fans gazing in amazement - MPW. Start off by creating your own outfit for your character, before unleashing them all upon each other in a Party Rumble, set in a ring shaped like Mario's moustache - last man/woman/ape/creature remaining on their feet at the end gets the 10 coins. Let's get ready to rumble! The losers get thrown into a pit, ready to be eaten alive by large greased-up men in Speedos.
Hangman:
A game where Bowser kidnaps all the characters, and attempts to hang them. By tapping the 'A' button, you squirm about more, causing more damage to your neck and killing your character faster - whoever dies first is the winner. Button-bashing fun!
Nuclear Darts:
The dartboard is Bowser - you have to accurately aim darts at this moving Bowser-board. They're not just normal darts though, as the tip contains a powerful Uranium sample, that can kill anything in a second. Bowser doesn't die right away though, unless you get him right in the heart, or in the centre of the head. 5 body shots do the trick too. Hit him in the groin and the darts bounce back, so be careful.
Milk It:
Very much like the Cross Country Skiing event, but with cows, in a 3-part game - first, you push the cow up a hill, before riding the cow down the hill, and finally milking it at the bottom. The quicker you get the cow up the hill, and the faster you ride it down, the quicker the milk comes out. Whoever finishes with the most milk in their bucket is pronounced the winner, and the receiver of 20 coins.
Big Bowser:
Big Bowser is watching you! This game was probably removed because of it's length. You and all the other characters are dumped in Big Bowser's house, and made to complete tasks so that they can get food. The character with the least points at the end of each task is voted off, and the winner is selected at the end, after the final task.
Taxi Kart:
Mario Kart returns!.. except, it's only a small mini-game, lasting one minute, in which you have to collect as many customers as you can and dump them in a big bowl, from where Bowser will eat them. Taxi fun, with karts! Each person collected gets you some 5 points, and if you crash, you drop your passenger, losing points.
Shopping:
Take some of your coins to use as money - head down to Ikea - buy a chair - sit on it. Whoever has the nicest looking chair gets everyone's money. A real money-getter, and a lot of fun too.
Cheese:
Each character owns a cheese shop, and a cheese-making machine. You must make your own cheese, selecting size, colour, and number of holes, before presenting it in your shop window. The nicest cheese will attract more customers, meaning more coins for the best 'Cheesemonger'. The more customers you get, the more chance you have of winning the battle for coins.
Place Your Bets:
There is a big Horse Racing event on in the Mushroom Kingdom, and you have to bet on which horse you want to win. Cheer on your horse by tapping 'A', which makes it believe there is hay at the end of the race, and put off other horses by tapping 'B', which shouts abuse at them. The more coins you put on in the this event, the more you get back if you win. It's a gambling life!
Well, there were some of the game ideas that I found at Ninty HQ, and I can't say I didn't have fun discovering all of these new games that were about to be included in Mario Party 4, but weren't. I'm really sorry I can't bring the ideas and drawings back to show you, but we can still hope that games like this will be in the 5th Mario Party. I've had a lot of fun viewing all the information and early-drawings on these games, and I hope they are all included in the next Mario Party. If they aren't, AJ's gonna kick some behind!
Merry Christmas,
AJ.
