"Is Jesus a Bas....?"

Just went to a singing thing in a church today and they had a few readings which got me thinking. Firstly, how did the baby "get into" Mary in the first place if she didn't sleep around. Secondly, the priest said that Mary and Joseph were only engaged when Jesus was born, so if it was Josephs' son, Jesus would be a bas....

He can't do any of the magical tricks he claims to be able to do - that's the point.

But the proof of Jesus coming back from the dead is minimal. The people who apparently saw him were; his disciples - the people who followed him and, you have to admit, would like to make him look like a miracle worker - and some prostitutes. If I was a prostitute, I know I'd try quite hard to get some fame and publicity so I didn't have to sell my body every night just to get by.

Also, can someone remind me exactly what he did when he came back from the dead?

I actually tried learning something about religion the other day. I read a small booklet that a Jehovah's Witness posted through the door - it had really condensed opinions as to why I or people should become a Jehovahs Witness....First things first though: Can somebody explain the difference between being a Jehovahs Witness and a Christian. I know that both believe in god as we know him but I'm pretty sure that there are differences in their beliefs.

The second thing was, even though I appreciate that this book had only the minimal amount of information to make it readable, there seemed to be strange contradictions. One thing was, even though God is infinitely kind, generous and forgiving, he still banished Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden and demands that we only worship him and nobody else (according to this book). I know it's a simple point to make but surely that means it requires a simple answer - enlighten me.

Goaty will listen to someone who can logically explain how or why god doesn't exist.

I will listen to someone who can logically explain how or why God does exist.
And without the stuff like "Coz the Bible says so and in Chapter 3 verse blah blah blah Matthew, Mark, Luke and John..."

And if anybody can logically explain how God or gods can POSSIBLY exist, then I'LL listen.

The fact that no god or form of religion can be proved as more than fantasy is enough for me to become a disbeliever.

Even removed from the religous stuff. Jesus would have been perfectly legitimate, as a Mother has a year to marry after the birth of any child in order to make her child legitamate, and Joseph & Mary were married when she gave birth.

Didn't you ever realise that Jesus was God's son not Joseph's?!
