Think about it. Holes are nothingness. A hole is a place where there is nothing, so if its a nothing what makes it a hole? like toad in the hole... or a pot hole or the holes in polo mints and possibly a black hole. Isn't everything a hole? All the space in the whole world is hole.

its surrounded by the air which is made of atoms just like a hole in a bit of paper is surrounded by paper atoms so it must be a hole - anyway what is a black hole?? how can a hole have a colour if a hole is just space surrounded by stuff?

It's not surrounded by other stuff, the other stuff is in that mass of interconnected space we selfishly label the universe.

I take a piece of paper... I then stab a pen through it... I have created a hole.

But everything has something around it so everything must be a hole.
