continuing with the theme of this thread...

about 2 years ago on a saturday morning around 10am, I was out walking from my student house off campus to get a paper.
The road I went along is a main road into the city center and there are few places like pelican crossings to get across on.
So as I was getting close to the paper shop I got to the crossing and pressed the button that would change the lights...
There wasn't much traffic on the road that morning and after 20 seconds the lights changed and the little green man appeared
I hesitated for a second which was just as well because at the same time a car came shooting round the corner way over the speed limit and jumped the red lights... if I had been crossing they would have had no time to stop.

I tried not to dwell on it otherwise I would never have left the house again.

the worst place to be a pedestrian was on the campus of the american university I was at last year. most drivers were ok but there was a proportion of drivers who would never stop to let people cross or slow down in places where there were a lot of people (essentially the whole campus)

Heh, we (me and a few mates) were playing Cricket on my road (I live on an estate which is out of the way and only people that live there use the road)

Anyways, this one guy driving like a maniac done the same thing as what u was saying to one of my mates. My mate had to quite literally jump out of the way or he would have been run over. If that guy had stopped i swear we would have batted the crap out of his car (and him too)

When i was coming back from uni we were going round a roundabout when the back and started slidding out, just as well by brother regained control or we were in for some pain. Im guessing it was diesel on the road, the car just totally lost traction.

Wow! That's pretty scary! Something like that happened to me a while ago... but I wouldn't exactly call it a 'near death experience'! But it freaked me out 'that' much, I don't like talking aboot it!

Anyway... are you ok now?? :-)

Giving a van to a postman is like showing a red rag to a bull, the fury builds up inside them according to my 8th year psychology teacher, then they lash out at the young. They should all be demoted to bikes with 13" trailers if you ask me.
