No. You need Doom3.

Have any console games ever done this?
Anyway I think the site selling it to you would have to say that the original was required to play the game if it was indeed the case.

Sorry. I wasn't clear. PC res of evil needs the original Doom3. I highly doubt the Xbox version will need it.
I meant ID are dumb for having it need the original with so many popluar game 'expansions' being playable straight out the box without the original game.
Although I suppose you get it all in one package it minimises sales and forces people who've sold the original to buy it agai if they want to play the expansion.
