I basically want to get into DJing but I don;t know how. I'm thinking of asking my parents and family to forget normal presents and buy me some dacks as a big XMas pressie. but I;m not sure..

Is it difficult? Are there any books/sites I can read up on?

Any one else here DJ / know a 'bedroom-DJ' ?

Money is my only real barrier for thw hole thing...

It can be very expensive so you have to be sure that you will actually keep at it. You'll need decks, mixers etc which range in price from cheap and nasty to whatever someone is willing to pay.

If you are going to go for it try pick up some second hand gear, a lot of DJ's will upgrade their equipment and sell of their old stuff quite a bit cheaper.


Doubt there will be book about it but I could be wrong. Just practice and mess around, try different things etc.

Nope I'm still at a secondary school... Westminmster School to be precise... The school is so old I think they're yet to grasp the idea of LPs.

I have limited knowledge but I'm guessing it's pretty easy

If so join the Technical Services Committee or whatever the equivalent is where you are.
