Video cameras!
I want one!
Unfortunatley, I know absolutely nowt about the things and would probably go into Dixons and buy the world's most expensive piece of poo.
So I am coming to you for help!
This camera isn't going to be used for making films (dodgy or otherwise). Just want one as like a general video camera for all occassions etc.
Basic requirements:
£800 or less (could you suggest a range of decent ones?)
Decent video quality but obviously not top of the range
Not too small (saw some JVC-D7(?) and had to hold it in 3 fingers. It was rubbish.
erm, basically, a decent camera at a decent price.
Oh, and wheres the best place to buy them? The net seems to, on average, be about £100 cheaper than the high street. Is there anywhere you recommend?
Cheers for your help here.

-Keep them on SP, LP is for complete idiots, cannot be bothered, lets just say its bad, and at least if you keep them all SP they give best quality and there is no confusion.
-Buy the same brand if you are going to shoot the same thing but change tape inbetween (say its a two hour play). If you change tape or even camera, the quality will be noticably different and it sucks going into post production (as I have done) and trying to get them to look similar.
I would recommend TDK tapes or Panasonic ones for a Canon camera.
Always done me proud.
New film up by mid-next week.
It includes guns and a phat fight scene.:)

Cheers for that. Complete idiot that I am, I would have gone for LP ;-)
TDK are my usual source of tape/Cd's so I'll probably stick with them.
Are you going to get this film online for us or is it just too damn big? I'm guessing that even a short film will be a few hundred meg? I'll be fine on this connection but I'm sure not many on the forums have a T3 ;-)
It won't rule as much as the whole size, but if you want to see all my work a website with a showreel is about to start and if you send me a couple of quid (to cover the DVD) I will send you a DVD of everything I have done. If you are interested.
I would definately be interested in seeing what you've done.
Gimme a shout and I'll get a couple of squid going in your direction.
Is it just the Analog and DV inputs which are extra?
Its a very decent camera for the price.
Don't argue with me. :P
I'm gonna end up spending thousands at this rate :-)
My email address is below - let me know how I can get some money in your direction for a DVD of your stuff.
